The textbook was prepared at the Department of Biology and General Genetics of the Medical Department of the Russian University of Friendship of Peoples.

The textbook contains brief information on all sections presented in the manual, descriptions of laboratory work, and materials for independent work. The manual is illustrated by tables and 74 drawings that display almost all objects studied.

The publication is intended for use in laboratory classes and independent work of students of the first courses of medical universities and compiled in accordance with the State Educational Standard and Training Programs on the basis credit-modular system of organization of the educational process.
