The perennial plant of the family is buttic, up to 2m high with dense cystic inflorescences of dark violet color with black cores. It blooms in June-July, secondary flowering-in August-September, faded inflorescences are cut for a full-fledged second flowering. It grows well in lit areas with light shading in midday hours. Prefers fertile loamy and sandy loam, moderately wet soils. Seeds are sown in autumn in open ground or in March for seedlings, in May the plants are planted in a permanent place with a distance of 35-40 cm. They are used in group and single plantings, to obtain cuts. In a cut form, they stand in water up to 10-12 days. All parts of the dolphinium are poisonous.
