The name of this woman is covered with myths and fantasies. The reaction to the creations and practice of the famous theosophka is from the rapid admiration of the hidden capabilities of the rational person, which was studied by Elena Blavatsky, to fierce rejection and accusations of black magic and charlatanism. Blavatsky managed in life a lot: wrote several books, hundreds of articles, thousands of letters, established a theosophical society. She was almost the only one among Russian women who turned to the wisdom of India and promoted her philosophy and culture. To a large extent, in her work, she created myths, disarming them into realistic clothes, and did it so skillfully that many still cannot separate fiction from real life. The author of this book, a well -known indologist, on the basis of a deep study of the heritage of Blavatsky, including the adyar library, and acquaintance with the sources of numerous researchers from around the world, managed to create a voluminous image of a “mysterious fury” and at the same time deeply miserable gifted nature, trying to penetrate into a world closed for mortals.
