Maurice Meterlink (1862–1949) - Belgian poet, writer, philosopher and playwright, whose name is inextricably linked by the European theater of the early XX century. For “multifaceted literary activity” and especially for his dramatic works, Meterlink in 1911 received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
This collection included three of his plays: the famous “Blue Bird” (1908), first staged by Stanislavsky. The scene of the Moscow Art Theater, its continuation is “Booring” (1922), where the young Tiltil and his parents, and the drama “Pelleas and Melizanda” (1892), which formed the libretto of the same name by Claude Debyussi, appear again.
