Bogatyrshchina. Russian epics in the retelling of Bobrashov I.

The set of Russian epics of the heroic cycle is quite large and has many variable plots recorded at different times in different places from the words of many dozens of “folk rapsodes”. In his prosaic retelling of this epic legacy, the writer Ilya Blessashov not only clearly represents all his mythopoetic wealth, but also builds a story in the order that allows the totality of disparate stories to see the contours of a single canvas of the Russian folk epic.
