Book about Lasaro de T.
“The Book of Lasaro de Tormes” is the conditional name of the cycle of works united by one hero, which was based on anonymously published in the middle of the 16th century “Lasarillo’s life...” is a story about the fate of a boy, involuntarily becoming a resounding plow in a brutal The fight against poverty and hunger. The story saw the light in the midst of the Spanish Inquisition and was later prohibited by the Catholic Church. And it is not surprising, because this story refuted the generally accepted system of values of the era of Charles V: blindly following the “Code of Honor”, ostentatious heroism, hypocritical observance of religious rites. Subsequently, it gave rise to a colossal literary tradition and became the most important milestone in the history of world literature, one of the most striking works of the Renaissance literature. It was this story that was destined to become a work with which the Spanish Plutovsk Roman began, and - wider - the European novel of the New Age. The central character of the story - a rogue and Antherler - turned out to be such a significant symbol of the era that today neither the national literature of Spain, nor the world literature are generally unthinkable without this text. The multi -class and polyphonic, Toleled city herald, affectionately nicknamed Lasarillo, was rightfully recognized as the national archetype and took a place in one row with the most prominent hero of the Spanish literature with the cunning Idalgo Don Kikhot Lanchenschsky. The trilogy about the life and adventures of Lasaro is published in Russian in full for the first time: the first part - with restored bills, the second and third - in transfers specially executed for the present publication. The book reproduces the classic illustrations of Maurice Leluar, as well as the rare edition of the first Russian translation of Lasarillo (1775), although noted by some liberties, but filled with the richest and delicious Russian language, and therefore representing independent value. It is recommended to the widest circle of readers.
