Book of a Russian officer. Comp. Kuzmin V.V.
In the history of the Russian and Soviet Army there were several books with the unofficial status of the Code of Honor of the Russian Officer. The main one is the legendary work of the captain V. Kulchitsky, who gathered "old but eternal truths, which are mostly forgotten and unknown to the young." His “Tips to the Officer” first published in 1913 and withstood at least six editions; Later, the book of Kulchitsky was the basis of the Code of the Soviet Guard. Another such book was the “duel code” by V. Durasov (1908), based on the ideas about officer honor established in the Russian Empire. Also, in our collection, notes of a prominent Russian drill officer M. Galkin and Cossack officer I. Yaitsky on the norms and rules of behavior of the commanding staff in regimental and household life are published for the first time.
The gift edition of the "Book of the Russian Officer" is decorated with works of Russian and foreign painting, as well as rare drawings and photographs.
