The Book of Childhood, Yuri Markovich Nagibin (1920-1994), consisting of a series of stories “Summer” and “School”, is autobiographical. The author recalls the life of Soviet people in the 20th century, in particular in the pre -war decade: how they huddled in communal services, how they dressed and what songs they sang and read books. And most importantly, Nagibin with great skill revealed the world of childhood and adolescence with its joys, anxiety, problems, youthful friendship and the first love.
