Books of the Dead: Collection.
In this collection, ancient texts are published on the posthumous fate of human consciousness or soul: “The Tibetan Book of the Dead”, or “Bardo Thyol”, describing the intermediate states - through which, according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, passes a person’s consciousness from the beginning of the process physical dying and before reincarnation; “The Book of the Dead Indians of Maya” is an excerpt from the Mayan epic “Popol-Wuh”, telling about the journey of the Divine Gemini to the underworld-Shibalba; as well as the “ordeal of the soul of the Blessed Theodora”, which is part of the Byzantine “Life of Vasily New” apocrypha, telling about ordeals - obstacles passed by Theodora's souls on the way to the throne of God.
