The textbook is prepared in accordance with the Botany program. In the selection of material, the authors focused on many years of experience in teaching the Botany course at the pharmaceutical faculty of the First MGMU named after THEM. Sechenov (Sechenov University). Botany is a basic discipline for pharmacognosy, one of the special objects in the pharmacist training system. This largely determined the selection of the material presented in the textbook.

Particular attention is paid to the anatomy, morphology and systematics of plants, i.e. Those sections of botanists that are most closely related to the main sections of pharmacognosy. The publication is well illustrated (about 160 drawings) for all the shown sections of the botany.

The textbook is intended for students of pharmaceutical schools, colleges and biological lyceums.
