Cesare Lombroso is the largest Italian philosopher-positivist, psychiatrist and professor of forensic medicine. The central theme of his main work “Brilliant and insanity” was the idea of a born criminal. Lombroso believed that crimes were committed by people with a set of certain external data and psychological characteristics.
