The action of the first novel unfolds in the early 1950s-this is another episode from the history of the village of Pekashino, revealing negative changes in the minds of the Russian peasant because of a short-sighted state policy that does not allow a rural worker to use the results of his work. In the second novel dedicated to the events in the same village in the 1970s, all aspects of human existence are shown-the personal life of the family, the socio-moral problems of society, attempts to preserve the original national features of our people.
