Herbal, perennial pubescent plant. Height 20 - 30 cm. Green leaves with a white -pink edging, which by the middle of summer acquires a brownish color. Flower ears are collected in large thick panicemic inflorescence. Winter -hardy. It grows both in the sun and in partial shade.
