By the name of mankind. Zvyagintsev A.G.
more than 70 years have passed since the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal ended. The court of peoples, as this process is often called, was the first experience in the history of condemning crimes of a state scale - the ruling regime, its punitive institutions, higher political and military figures, industrialists and financiers.
The main process of mankind has acquired world-historical significance as the first and to this day the largest legal act of united nations. Unified in their rejection of violence against man and society, the peoples of the world have proved that they can successfully withstand the universal evil, to perform fair justice.
It is not surprising that in the unanimously adopted resolution of the UN General Assembly of December 11, 1946, UN members confirmed that the principles set forth in the Statute of the Nuremberg Tribunal and are reflected in the decision of the Tribunal are modern "principles of international law".
The lessons and the historical value of the court of peoples do not lose their significance today. We remember and never forget the past, all the suffering and loss that we had to endure in the fight against fascism in the name of the peaceful future of all the peoples of our planet.
