Byzantine essays

Byzantine essays since 1961 have been traditionally published by Russian scientists on the eve of the International Congresses of Byzantineists. This issue was prepared for the XXIV International Congress, which should take place in 2022 in Padua and Venice. It includes articles reflecting the results of the latest research by scientists of Russia's problems of religious, political, economic and ideological aspects of the history of Byzantium, and also covers aspects of the history of its regions and the countries associated with it - the Italian republics and Rus'. The collection also considers the problems of Byzantine archeology and the history of art. A tribute to the departed colleagues is given.
