Cachexia. Guide for practical doctors. Vyerthkin A. L., Silina E. G.
Identification of cachexia in patients who appeal to the clinic with a wide variety of complaints and symptoms does not require expensive equipment and additional research methods. This syndrome belongs to the category of "diagnosis in the door." A decrease in body weight, regardless of the reason, is as a rule, alarms the patient and his relatives, now and then, forcing him to see a doctor of even the most undisciplined patients. The doctor should be able to get ahead of the impending threat, since it is possible to help the patient with cachexia only at the very early stages of the development of this pathological syndrome. That is why the outpatient service always remains leading in this direction.
in this leadership, we tried to structure and state the main causes of cachexia, the necessary research methods that have high diagnostic significance, as well as the basic principles of treatment. We hope that our book will help clinical therapists and general practice doctors in everyday work with the corresponding category of patients.
