Howard Phillips Lavkraft, who did not publish a single book during his lifetime, became a lighthouse and a landmark of the whole genre, an idol of both wide reader masses and refined intellectuals, an inexhaustible source of inspiration for filmmakers, and his very name became a household name. Borges himself admired his stories in which the place of man is on the distant periphery of the universal scheme of things, and the supermances inspire the reckless horror in the souls.

The famous novels and stories of one of the most influential mythomotors of the twentieth century were included in the present edition : “I call Ktulhu”, “Higher over the Insmus”, “whispering from darkness” and others.
