The American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft during his lifetime did not publish a single book, printing only in magazines. Recognition came to him decades after death. Lovecraft is called the founder of the literature of “supernatural horror”, “literary Copernicus” and “Edgar in the twentieth century”. The figure of the writer is surrounded by a cover of speculations, myths and riddles.
The collection includes the best stories of one of the most influential myth -making of the 20th century. Lovecraft mixed ordinary reality and the Ecumenical nightmare, showed a clash of a simple person with incomprehensible, and sometimes deadly creatures. Dagon, Ktulhu, Yog-Sotot and many other dark deities invented by him in the 1920s, later gained such popularity that hundreds of fiction creators, including Nile Gaiman and Stephen King, still continue to expand his mythology.
