“The Captain's Daughter” - the historical novel of the Russian poet, playwright and prose writer A. S. Pushkin (1799–1837), the creator of the modern Russian literary language, was written in 1836. The action of the novel and his main intrigue - the acquaintance and love of the main characters of Masha Mironova and Peter Grinev, their further fate - occur against the historical background of the uprising of Emelyan Pugachev. Thanks to the talented description of the love line of the novel with rivalry, intrigue, the abduction of the heroine and its salvation, realistically and deeply written out portraits of heroes and the contradictory and brightly Pugachev, the novel “The Captain's Daughter” became one of the most significant Russian prose works of the first half of the 19th century. The novel is an obligatory part of the school curriculum.
