Carmilla is one of the first works about vampires in the history of literature, written 25 years before the famous “Dracula” Bram Stoker, who was inspired by Le Fanya’s work.
The story of the practitioners of the psychiatrist Martin Hesselius , told by young girl Laura, who, together with her father, lives in the castle among the endless forests of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and leads a secluded lifestyle. Everything changes with the advent of a beautiful stranger named Carmilla, then strange events begin to take place: the peasants die one after another, the Laura gets sick and the hollow -long, and at night she is tormented by nightmares. Who is actually this mysterious karmille and what has to do with what is happening?
In addition to this short story, the collection includes other stories of Dr. Hesselius: “Green Tea”, “A longtime acquaintance”, “Judge Harbottl” and “The number in the Flying Dragon Hotel.”
