Carpal channel syndrome: personal and public. Baitinger A.V.
Carpal Canal syndrome is a symptomatic compression neuropathy of the middle nerve at the level of the wrist, which is based on an increase in pressure in the carpal canal and a decrease in the function of the median nerve passing in it. In the global medical community, this pathology firmly occupied the sphere of interests of cystic surgeons, which are in their basic specialtical traumatologists or plastic surgeons. Despite all the apparent simplicity, the issues of the etiology of the primary syndrome of the carpal canal remain unresolved, which complicates the etiological approach to the treatment of this pathology. The book presents a wide overview of clinical and anatomical data, starting with variations of the anatomy of the carpal canal and theories of the development of the carpal channel syndrome and ending with the principles of diagnosis, methods of conservative and surgical treatment, supplemented by the author’s personal experience. Generalized experience is presented in the form of a medical diagnostic algorithm.
The publication is intended for cystic surgeons, traumatologists, plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons, neurologists and general practitioners.
