Carrots "Altai Sugar", b/n, 1,500 pcs
Altai sugar carrots are a special and most beautiful variety, recognized as the sweetest of all existing ones. Altai sugar has a very thin core in sugar carrots, so the root crops are so sweet and crispy. This variety is easily recognized by even root crops, quite massive and long - at least 25 cm! The lentils are small, the carrots themselves are bright, saturated orange color.
Altai sugar carrots are a mid -season variety, so it is necessary to plant it in open ground only at a stable air temperature, after returning spring frosts. A sharp cooling at times will reduce the yield of sugar carrots. The optimal time for seed sowing is May-June, depending on your region. Seeds are laid in the soil to a depth of 2-3 centimeters. Consider the correct distance between the grooves in the bed: the indentation between the rows should be made 20 cm. A regular weed is necessary, which will help to make a sample of the largest plants in time. If the weeding is done irregularly, the root crops can be smaller, so take this procedure - in use with any grade - seriously!
If your soils are poor enough, for the entire growth period they usually fertilize twice. The first time, mineral fertilizers are applied after 3 weeks from the moment of seedlings, the second time after 2 months. Sugar varieties of carrots are very moisture loving. The more abundant watering, the sweeter your crop will be. Altai sugar carrot harvest occurs 110-120 days after seed sowing.
