It is unlikely that every cat owner is aware that a real predatory animal holds in the house. Nevertheless, this is so. To make sure of the fairness of such a statement, it is enough to look at the cat's teeth. As is known from the school zoology course, large fangs are a characteristic feature of the predatory detachment. They work like scissors blades, cutting the muscles and tendons of the victim. Cats have fangs! True, they are not too large, but rather sharp and clearly noticeable.

The most powerful fangs had extinct Mahairods and Smilodons, who are sometimes called saber -toothed tigers. Their powerful “dentists” stuck out of the upper jaw for 15 cm! In order to wield such fangs, it was necessary to open the mouth very widely. Fangs of saber -toothed tigers were so great because these predators hunted ancient thick -skinned rhinos and similar armored herbivores.
