Change. Read and count. Books of the 1920-1930s
The little girl was very lucky. Before her eyes, an irrelevant coin suddenly begins to “share” and turn into many wonderful purchases and children's pleasures. Brozen Ka-lace- “horseshoe”, a bulk apple, fried seeds, a large iris and transparent water “with bubbles”. In all the adventures of a small customer, fabulous motifs are guessed, which are accompanied by multiple meetings and wonderful acquisitions. In this appeal to folklore lies quite reasonable motivation. The author of the book - the Russian fiction writer and poet Lev Zilov - in his work for children turned to the retelling of folk tales and the creation of an author's fairy tale. However, in addition to literary creativity itself, the book of the writer was embodied with the fullness of the “surrender”. He unobtrusively and in a fascinating form, with simple examples, explains the gradation of monetary units: from large to smaller ones, from a hryvnia to a penny. And with what surprise the little Fenya reacts to all events, enthusiastically perceiving the change received, and how it is upset without receiving it from her last purchase, so many children. Joy and disappointment, immediacy and inconsistency - after all, this is how the child reacts to the world.
