Children's library. Between the century of the eighteenth and the twentieth

You are the first book from the new series: "Books about books." Can you call Russian children's poets of the 19th century? For non -specialists, the question will not be so simple. Krylov’s fables, Pushkin's fairy tales, Nekrasov’s poems; The chosen works of Lermontov, Feta, Maykov, Pleshcheev, various annexation from the verses of the classics of Russian literature are the heritage that is reprinted for more and more children from year to year for more and more generations of children. The great advantages of these books are undeniable, but we only pay attention to the fact that both Krylov’s fables and Pushkin’s fairy tales were composed for adult readers. The chosen anthology from the literature for adults to the twentieth century was such an image of children's literature in many European countries, and Russia was no exception. Nevertheless, in pre -revolutionary Russia, several outstanding serious events associated with the existence of children's literature occurred. This book will introduce three such events.

“Unconducted” Modzalevsky’s poetry took a unique place in the history of Russian children's literature, entering the life of hundreds of thousands of peasant children throughout Russia instead of “” Native word "Ushinsky.

cheerful, realistic, fervent, but connected with softness, sentimentality and restrained edification, the direction of children's poetry from Shishkov to Modzalevsky tied the era of Derzhavin and Krylov, Pushkin and Zhukovsky with the twentieth century; And in the pre -revolutionary years, the most organic continuation is the poetry of M.P. Chekhov, brother of Anton Pavlovich and editor of the magazine Golden Childhood.
