The history of war in China goes back to the ancient myths in which the great warriors are wizards and magicians, and their legendary battles personify the ideals of justice and service to the people. The realities of the war were never as simple and obvious, however, politicians, thinkers, and commanders, faced with conflicts and wars, were looking for ways to pacify them in those ancient fundamental concepts and ideas.

What qualities the commander should have, which leads to conflicts in society, how to rule the state and prevent crises - these and many other problems have long been interested in Chinese sages.

The book is based on translations of the texts of Zhuge Lian and Liu Ji - invincible commanders and wise statesmen who in practice proved their comprehension of the art of war, the art of strategy.
