Yuri Vlodov (1932-2009)-a poet of great talent and tragic fate. Boris Pasternak gave him a ticket to the poetic fraternity, noting that every poem of the then beginning poet "is a brick, embedded in the foundation of modern Russian -speaking poetry." But over the years, the work of Yu. Vlodov was known only to a narrow circle of writers and lovers of poetry close to the underground. The reader was the infrequent publications of individual poems and small collections in the periodical. And only in the last decade, thanks to the publication of his books (“On Seven Hills”, 2009, “People and Gods”, 2012), the real discovery of a powerful, multifaceted, with his unique voice of the poet, about which A. I. Solzhenitsyn said: "And as for a poetic school, then it has its own, that in literature there is a rarity in literature."
The collection "Chronicle" included the military poems of Yuri Vlodov - strong and original, they, according to Ravil Bukharaev, would have to get in the anthology of poems about the Great Patriotic War, as well as historical sketches collected in the section " Portraits ".
