The collection was compiled based on the materials of the MCTCMO circle, which was held in 2015-2017 for schoolchildren of grades 8-9. The tasks are grouped in classes, and classes are on topics. The sequence of classes is arranged so that the collection is learning. Most new terms and methods are introduced through tasks. At the end of the collection, answers and instructions to the decision, as well as an alphabetical reference book, are given. The reference book includes explanations of many terms, formulas and methods with examples, sometimes with evidence. It is assumed that the reader has basic knowledge of probability theory, at least in the volume of a school textbook of grades 7-8.

the collection is intended for motivated schoolchildren, interested students, as well as for heads of probability theory. It can be used to prepare for the Olympiads on the theory of probability and statistics.

The first edition of the book was published in 2017.
