Once archaeologists found a birch bark with children's scribbles. So the famous Novgorod birch bark letters were discovered. They allowed them to find out not only about what the Novgorodians wrote, but also what schools they had, what temples they built, how the city was arranged and what the inhabitants took care of, among whom were such legendary personalities as Anthony Roman, a merchant Sadko and Prince-winner Alexander Nevsky.
