The publication of the collected works of Vladimir Vysotsky (1937-1980) is in fullness the work of a large Russian poet, an outstanding bard-performer. The first two volumes are “main” Vysotsky: the songs located in chronological order, performed by the author at concerts, which “replaced” the poet’s printed publications that were absent during his lifetime. There are also songs from films and performances that were part of Vysotsky’s concert repertoire. The third volume is poems that have not become songs, theatrical and film zones, poems in case. Volume fourth is prosaic: narrative experiments (“Roman about girls”, “Life without sleep”, etc.), diary entries, “oral prose” (deciphering interviews and performances), selected letters.
