Collected works. Volume 4. Places. Prigov D.A.
volume of “places” continues a series of publications from the vast heritage of D.A. Prigova (1940–2007), begun by the volumes of Monads, Moscow and Monsters. This includes works in which the dialectics of “its” and “alien”, local and universal, regarding various cultural languages, spaces and forms come to the fore. A number of texts refer to certain cultural loci that has developed in Prigov’s work: Moscow Belyaevo, London, “West”, “East”, the space of dreams. A large section is the poetic and prosaic conceptualization of Russia and Russian.
The section "Territory of the Language" includes samples of Prigov experiments with a poetic form. “Pushkin’s places” represent Prigov’s work with Pushkin’s myth, including, among other things, fragments from his “remake” of Evgeny Onegin. The book also most fully presents the dramaturgy of the author (section “The space of the scene”), and its travel novel “Only my Japan” completes its track novel. Some texts are reproduced with the preservation of author's spelling and punctuation.
