Sergey Dovlatov is one of the most popular and readable Russian writers of the late XX - early XXI centuries. His stories, stories, notebooks are translated into many languages, filmed, studied at school and universities. The amazingly funny and at the same time piercing-typical prose of Dovlatov has long become a classic and relatives of the writer with such masters of tragicomic prose as A. Chekhov, Taffy, A. Averchenko, M. Zoshchenko. In 1972 - 1975, during the residence in Tallinn Dovlatov, he worked as a freelance correspondent in the newspaper Sovetskaya Estonia.
