This book included religious and philosophical treatises L.N. Tolstoy's “confession” and “about life”, in which the writer summed up the years of his spiritual and moral searches.

“Confession” is an autobiographical work. Tolstoy describes his many years of searching for the meaning of life, starting from the youngest years, a painful fear of death, a sense of person’s worthlessness before eternity and, finally, coming to God and faith.
