Confession. Aurelius Augustine
Aurelius Augustine (354-430) - the theologian and philosopher, one of the fathers of the Church, who created an integral system of Christian philosophy. His works influenced the entire medieval heritage, and the thoughts expressed by him in “On the City of God”, “Christian science”, “confession” and other works were developed by philosophers of subsequent centuries. “Confession” is considered the first Christian autobiography, it consists of thirteen works describing childhood, youth and mature years of blessed Augustine. In them, the author exposes his own vices, which, nevertheless, are characteristic of all people on Earth, talks about their life searches, and most importantly - about his path to faith. The latest works are devoted to thoughts about eternal matters and the interpretation of the Book of Genesis. “Confession” as a whole becomes the philosophy of mankind, which should appear before its creator in order to remain in eternity. The book is presented in the translation of the professor of the Kyiv Theological Academy of David Podgursky (1803-1880).
