Sergey Yesenin was born in a peasant family in the village of Konstantinov, the Ryazan province. He began to write poetry from the age of nine. At eighteen he sent them to the editorial office and, according to his admission, was surprised that his works were not printed. Then he “struck” to St. Petersburg, went straight to the bloc, which “fresh, clean, vocal” verses of the talented peasant poet really liked it... According to E. Yevtushenko, Yesenin, perhaps the most Russian poet, “because there is a draw of other poetry so much. There was no birches from the rustle, from the soft knock of rain drops... Not in anyone else there was such a defenseless confession, although it was sometimes hiding behind a riot... ”. The present edition presents the selected poems of Sergei Yesenin, his “Little Poems”, as well as the poems “Pugachev”, “Anna Snegina”, “Black Man”.
