The monograph is devoted to the study of the problem of control and supervisory activities in the field of criminal penalties, and therefore analyzes the formation and development of legislation on control and supervision of penitentiary institutions in the Russian Empire, the experience of foreign countries, and the classification of types of control and supervision activities is given and revealed The mechanism for the implementation of control and supervision in the theory and practice of the criminal-executive law of the Russian Federation.
