Albert Einstein said that he did not like to give an interview, but, as a public figure, he could not avoid them. At the same time, he never gave a thorough and ordered interview about his scientific career and the most interesting aspects of private life. It was this gap that Carlos Kalier, the NASA physicist and a big fan of Einstein, tried to fill in, and as a result he managed to recreate a portrait of one of the greatest scientists in history as convincingly as if he had actually talked with him.

I was based on the opinions and views expressed in his articles, books for an ordinary reader, an interview for the press and private letters to family members and friends. In some cases, I used direct quotes from these sources: they are partially indicated in the notes at the end of the book.
