The phenomenon of the human couple is considered in the historical aspect and in the context of different sciences - anthropology, sociology and psychoanalysis. The reader will get the opportunity to come into contact with the mental reality of this specific “material”, to trace the natural story of the couple, including the most important moments of its evolution, transformation and aging, will plunge into the atmosphere of psychological consultation of suffering couples. A new concept is introduced, a special interdisciplinary object at the junction of psychoanalysis, sociology and cultural studies - “Work of a couple”. With its help, an attempt is made to describe the complexity of the being of the human couple, the methods and levels of its organization, its functions and dysfunction.
