Criminal prosecution of leaders of the criminal environment in Russia: condition and problems. Scientific and practical manual

This manual discusses the criminological, criminal and criminal procedure aspects of counteracting organized crime, which remains one of the serious internal threats of Russian public security. Despite the general decrease in the effectiveness of the struggle with it, the law enforcement agencies of Russia managed to stop the activity of a number of interregional and international criminal communities and their leaders (“thieves in law”), who operated during the 1990-2000

Most of the participants in these communities have already been convicted and serving long terms of imprisonment, including lifelong conclusion.

Along with this, the manual presents a comparative legal analysis of the criminal legislation on the persecution of the leaders of the criminal environment, the detailed characteristics of Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on Responsibility for the occupation of the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, as well as the procedural features of the investigation and consideration of criminal cases of this category in court.
