Immanuel Kant is the greatest of the philosophers of the New Age, the founder of classical German philosophy. The circle of professional interests of Kant was unusually wide. He developed the theory of the origin of the solar system, studied earthquakes, gave lectures on physics and geography. However, the most important works of Kant, which have made a genuine coup in the field of thought, are the so -called “critical works”. The criticism of the practical mind was published in 1788. This is the main moral and philosophical composition of Kant. Based on the concept of universal moral law (categorical imperative), Kant offers its strictly ethical justification. The basis of this law is the idea of ​​transcendental freedom, or personal free will, which is inherent in a person and is unthinkable without moral self -discipline. Since, as the philosopher believed, only an absolutely voluntary act can be recognized as moral.
