Oil is a valuable resource, the possession of which makes omnipotent. But why, then, the vast majority of exporting countries of “black gold” suffer from armed conflicts, poverty and corruption?

American journalist Peter Maas visited many countries where oil is extracted-including Iraq, Libya, Nigeria and Russia.
