The theme of the history of the Western Slavs, their struggle against their German neighbors, ending with defeat and gradual great -fashioned, the actual disappearance of these peoples as individual ethnic formations, has been little studied in Russian science, although it is very interesting and always causing great interest. To fill this gap is called upon to reprint the rare study of I.A. Lebedeva, who has long become a bibliographic rarity.

The author focused on the events of the last years of the centuries -old confrontation of the Slavic tribes by the German Drange Nah Osten.
