Culture. Literature. Folklore. Belousov A.F.
Alexander Fedorovich Belousov (1946–2023) is an outstanding philologist who has become the discoverer at once several important topics in science. Having begun his path as a researcher of the Old Believer culture, he further turned to the study of urban folklore of the XIX - early XX centuries, and then initiated a whole new direction in folklorism - the study of modern city and children's folklore, from jokes and children's horror stories to sadistic verses.
Another important area opened by Belousov is a study of the phenomenon of the Russian province as a unique phenomenon. He also first turned to the study of the biography and work of Leonid Prevychina, having written a number of articles about his works and a detailed real commentary on the novel “City En”.
This collection includes the chosen works of Belousov on Russian folklore, Russian literature and the culture of everyday life, and in the final section an interview of the scientist published in different years in newspapers and magazines.
