Dangerous journey

The day was tending to sunset. Baby mice rushed silently in the air, catching insects. Billy Hornblauer was in a hurry to the main clearing of the village of Rainus. Every evening he came here to trim into a magical horn.

This work was very important and was transferred to the Hornblauers family from generation to generation. For thousands of years now, a lingering sound of an ancient horn has been heard over the woods of walnuts in the evenings so that the dwarves and elves could find the way to the village of Rainbow before the onset of darkness. And now, Billy brought the horn to his lips, and the forest responded to him for a long echo.

Returning home, Billy hung a horn to a special hook over the fireplace. And then he saw that his sister Poppi and brother Sam were lying in bed under a warm blanket, and a hot fire was burning in the fireplace. They were very pale and sad.
