One of the best novels by Charles Dickens, his “favorite brainchild” and largely an autobiographical work, full of charm of good old England.

David Copperfield is born a few months after the death of his father. He begins his life under the supervision of a good nanny and surrounded by love of his mother. However, the boy meets envy and anger in his way and is forced to know human cruelty, grief and disappointment. The purity of the soul, the clarity of thought, and the greatness of thoughts helps to overcome the obstacles and endure the numerous hardships of David Copperfield. The hero of the novel tells about himself, about the people dear to him and the events that happened to them.
