The sixth novel by Fedor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, published in 1871-1872. One of the most politicized novels by Dostoevsky was written by him under the impression of the sprouts of terrorist and radical movements among Russian intellectuals, rabbits and others. The direct prototype of the plot of the novel was a great resonance in society about the murder of student Ivan Ivanov, conceived by S. G. Nechaev in order to strengthen his power in a revolutionary terrorist circle.
