The textbook is compiled in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Secondary Professional Education (2014) in the specialty 31.02.05 “Orthopedic dentistry” for the methodological support of general professional discipline “Dental diseases”. The publication contains the necessary amount of information that allows you to master professional competencies. The textbook discusses the equipment and tools of the dental office. In an affordable form, information about the clinical manifestations of diseases of the maxillofacial region, methods of their diagnosis and treatment are presented. The theoretical aspects of caries and non -carious lesions of the teeth are highlighted in detail. In the section devoted to diseases of the oral mucosa, the connection of this pathology with the state of the body is emphasized, since the first symptoms of some general diseases (blood, endocrine system), as well as sexually transmitted diseases, can appear in the oral cavity. The study of the section describing periodontal diseases includes theoretical and clinical problems of periodontology, as well as issues of orthopedic treatment of the disease. Prheardly attention is paid to the topic of prevention of teeth and oral diseases, the concept of professional hygiene of the oral cavity is considered, as well as recommendations on the care of dental prostheses. As illustrative material, color photos, diagrams, tables were used. In the conclusion of each section, questions and tasks are proposed to consolidate the acquired knowledge and self -control.
