This textbook is an addition to T. A. Panyukova’s book “Documentation of Software”, previously published in our publishing house. It contains information on some sections of software engineering, which affect the documentation process and are a foundation for it. In particular, these are issues of organizing a life cycle of a software tool, program testing, reliability research. Certain chapters of the manual are devoted to the economic issues of software engineering and program quality control. The considered mathematical models can be investigated and considered within the framework of various applied courses for the direction of preparing bachelors and masters 010400 “Applied Mathematics and Informatics”.
