Every morning Roy puts a shabby cowboy hat, takes a guitar and a flask of water, sits on his faithful horse Desperodo and jumps along the prairie in kindergarten. There he has fun with his friends, and in the evening he returns home to mom and dad. But on one not very wonderful day everything changes. Roy comes to the kindergarten later, and there... Swing is broken, the children are locked, and the beloved teacher Heidi is stolen. Roy jumps up to the Despeado, and they start along the traces of the villains through the desert, along the mountains, until they find themselves in the gangster lair, where the unhappy Heidi languishes in imprisonment. How to free her? Despeado has a cunning plan.

German artist Ole Koonekke invented and painted Western. The plot of this story was built according to the laws of the genre: the cowboy and its faithful horse, the abduction of the beauty, the pursuit, captivity, salvation, evil is punished, good triumphs. The usual plot? Perhaps, but not for a children's picture book. Where else can you find a cowboy that goes to kindergarten, loves juice and cookies? And the horse, which follows the trail and makes the undermining?

The beautiful draftsman Ole Koonekke perfectly conveys emotions and increasing stress. The action draws you up, and you yourself seem to become participants in the events. The author seems to invite you to play cowboys, and this game is equally fascinating for both children and adults. With the apparent simplicity of the drawings, many funny details are hidden in them, and the attentive reader will be able to complement the story to their liking. As in any game, in this Western everything is a little ponaroshka, not seriously. And when Roy winks at the end of the Despeado, it seems that this is the author himself smiles and winks from his readers from 5 to 85 years old.
