Diagnosis of diseases, especially in emergency surgery, is often difficult even in the presence of modern instrumental technologies. The standard symptomatic approach to solving this complex problem is most often ineffective. The proposed diagnostic algorithm, a system of logical construction of a diagnosis in close connection with pathogenetic processes both in a separate organ and in the body as a whole will help to consciously understand the manifestations of the disease, find its causes and differentiate with other diseases. In order to better perceive all links in the pathological chain, diagrams of the pathogenetic and clinical development of diseases most common in urgent surgery are compiled.
